African Collection

I have been asked to produce a range of designs for a small clothing line collection. The African theme allows me to work with exciting colours and patterns. My usual style of work consists of producing artwork with traditional materials and techniques.

The Exhibition

For the exhibition held at Sheffield Hallam University, I used the handmade type I submitted for one of my graduation projects, and produced a new piece for the board.

This A1 paper cut piece was produced by hand. It has no relation to my previous projects, however I wanted a new brief where I could use my other skills.

These are the business cards I produced.

Little Red Riding Hood Book Cover

This is the book cover I designed for one of the projects. I used paint to produce the textured marks.

I produced this small 10x10cm book as a printed document of the 3D alphabet I made.
This piece was originally designed to become a book, however due to the binding difficulties of the perfect bind machine I found another way to present the outcome. I produced a sleeve to hold the pages together.

Each letter of the alphabet is presented on each sheet.
As the whole piece is not bound like a book, the letters can be laid out like cards.

This is the booklet I designed containing information about the children's charity Rainbow Trust. The 26 page booklet informs the reader who the charity supports, what events they hold, ways to fundraise and donate.

After making the letters, I arranged and photographed the words needed for the titles in the booklet.

Not all the letters (i.e. the doubles) are included in the photographs below, just the 26 letters of the alphabet:
