The Consumer

The first module involved working in groups of roughly 3-5. As a group of 4 we were instructed to carry out research on challenging brands (i.e. superdrug), these are companies competing alongside the market leaders (for example Boots).

The task was to to either invent or rebrand a product.

After our primary and secondary research, we decided to design a new product Spring, a natural energy drink containing natural ingrediants. We generated this idea from noticing the Firefly range of natural energy drinks in the health store Holland & Barratt. The product seemed to be successful, however we hadn't ever heard of the company or its products before. It isnt a drink you could easily get hold of which is limiting its sales compared to Vitamin Water.
Spring is targeted at 18-25 year olds of both sexes who has busy lives, this would be ideal for students and young professionals. Similar to Firefly's collection of having 4 drinks with "tasks" such as wake up, our USP was a different quirky flavour drink suitable for a certain day of the week:

Orange & Oatstraw Lift
Apple & Alfalfa Detox
Strawberry & Cinammon Breather
Cherry & Chamomile Relax
